☕ Morning fam,
A LOT of what we go through would be avoided if we just built our own, especially in industries/leagues where we are the majority of the labor. If we had our own we wouldn’t haven’t to worry about being the last ones hired and the first ones fired, getting paid less, hair discrimination in school or on the job, code switching, begging others to teach us our history or trying to fit in where we are not welcomed.
I know, I know, we built in the past and they burned it down. I know, I know how are we gonna fund it? I’ve heard all the reasons it can’t be done by people that talk black, but don’t think we can, don’t wanna try and would rather keep begging others to do it for us.
But here’s the thing, none of that changes the fact that building/ownership is the ONLY solution. And the sooner we figure out how, the sooner we close the door on many of the things we suffer from lack of ownership.
