The region is a mess from decades of Dem rule, mismanagement, unchecked and widespread corruption, nepotism and cronyism. Racism and police brutality are the least of it. Feds are here cleaning house, something establishment Dems and progressives alike refused to do. And because it took the feds, they lost what little trust that remained post Ferguson.
Every issue we took to the streets to fight is worse. The city’s population is now under 300,000 due to decades of disastrous Dem rule. Blacks are fleeing the city in droves. The city is pushing back at the exodus of residents by importing refugees, immigrants and illegals, changing the demographics of majority black municipalities and wards, further diluting black political power and the base of black political leadership.
Nothing makes sense, priorities are wrong and the region is headed in the wrong direction. Reform in the way of outsourcing city and county responsibilities to nonprofits has been a huge failure, millions squandered on short sighted, reactionary action with foreseeable consequences that made every problem worse.
Black girl magic has been a huge disappointment. And “wokeness”, the politics of white radical politics… social experimentation gone bad.
Dems took a huge gamble fundraising off failure instead of creating policy that addresses the needs of their base. And now that gamble is destroying the party from the top down.
