☕ Morning fam, Ended abruptly yesterday, things are happening at an alarming rate. Time is not on our side. Most of us have no idea what is coming down the line. Or the complicity of black leaders. Lotta us make the mistake of thinking this time is the same as every other time. Every other time we adapted (albeit very slowly), got thrown crumbs or somehow managed. Many have gotten so used to the notion of somebody coming to save us or just getting by they awon’t even try. This is black America as the US and the world resets. A lotta us ain’t gonna make it.

The Oscars’ snub of Angela Basset is the latest. She’s been reduced to a meme, the female equivalency of the crying Jordan face. Lori Lightfoot is Beetlejuice. Kamala is getting beat like a pinata. Black girl magic in St. Louis is the face.

  ☕ Morning fam, Hard to believe it’s been 10 years. A decade since the killing of Mike Brown and the Ferguson uprising. Everything is worse. Dems learned nothing. Progressives made every issue we’re facing worse. Black faces in high places was the wake up call many needed to vote policy and not identity. The region is struggling to recover from the fails of black girl magic. Orgs and the clergy lost all creditability. The movement is shattered. Not one person that came up on the death of Mike Brown demanded Wesley Bell reopen the investigation. Or Darren Seals despite all the stunting after his death. We may not have created the blueprint on what to do, but we damn sure created the blueprint of what not to do.

  ☕Morning fam, The world is resetting. This country is being reshaped, not through civic action or the vote, but by mail in ballots. Nobody ran on any of what we’re seeing. Nobody voted for any of this. We have no idea how deep the rabbit hole goes before we leaped in without looking. Now we find ourselves staring at not at a future, not one built for ourselves, but one imposed… fascism, authoritarianism, totalitarianism and the erosion of our rights under the guise of saving democracy and fighting mis/disinformation… because of a virus we cannot investigate, possibly created/funded by those in power for the purpose of imposing fascism, authoritarianism, totalitarianism and eroding our freedoms.

  ☕ Morning fam, We’re getting hit by a lot fam and we’re not ready for any of it, even knowing nobody is coming to save us. We are not getting ourselves right. We are not on code. We are not building collectively. And to be honest, most of us would gladly live on our knees than die fighting for liberation. We continue to put our fate in the hands of the oppressor. Whatever fate comes as a result is on us.
