Even when we talk about the right things, for example hip hop, Negros are more in their feelings about what DJ Akademiks said and the debate about who started hip hop than they are about corporate interests hijacking hip hop, not just the labels, now search engines and social media through algorithms. Another self-inflicted wound resulting from 1.allowing those outside our community to dictate/anoint and prop up in fields we dominate/are the talent and 2. our refusal to build. Negros rather cry about hurt feelings than take hip hop back. Here’s some tissue 😢 #BuildOrCry
