☕ Morning fam,
Lots of talk about reparations. Very little talk about the debt we owe.
There is a price for selling out. A price for jumping out on the frontlines or being a black face for issues/policies you know nothing, taking us back decades about because some white liberal gassed you up. A price for abandoning the struggle when you get a come up leaving the battle to those with less means. There is a price for being content in other people’s shit instead of building your own.
There is a price for poverty pimping and the exploitation of your own. A price for taking advantage of your own, for pretending to build with others then stabbing them in the back once you get yours.
There is a price for completely dropping the ball because “life happens” and not finding a way to press on or support those that do. What we are experiencing today is the cost. And the bill increases every single day.
“Life happens” to everybody fam, and I say this with love. It happened to MLK, to Malcolm, to Chairman Fred, to our ancestors, that’s why they call this ‘the struggle’ and even still they found a way to press on. To them and those coming behind us we owe this debt.
And now it’s time to pay up.
