Movement folks weren’t woke. They sleep walked into every trap set.
Those that were easily compromised and put into positions where they would succumb to temptation. Those that were egotistical and arrogant were elevated and given jobs they were underqualified for at best, incompetent at, at worse… as a means to sabotage the work.
Those that just wanted to be part of something were given grants as a means to squander money that could have funded real shit. Things are worse. And people have died as a result.
Nobody wants to accept responsibility for the role they played. Yeah, they got played, but nobody put a gun to their heads. Nobody forced mofos to embezzle when they got in.
The underqualified led by arrogance and ego knew they were not qualified. Those that grant hustled knew they didn’t have a plan.
Movement work was reduced to faking it til you make it. And that is how the Dem Party using faux progressives destroyed the movement. And movement folks, willing participants don’t just get to walk away from the role they played.
And they don’t get to point fingers.
