☕ Morning fam,
St. Louis is still struggling in the aftermath of federal indictments, the resignation of the President of the Board of Aldermen, 2 aldermen and a county exec, all black as it braces for the next round of indictments, the mayor predicted would come.
The problem? St. Louis so used to operating in a corrupt way, it’s been able to do so for decades, boldly… and out in the open. No one, not even the mayor thinks the feds are done, most are hoping for more indictments to rid us of folks we could never vote out. Fuckery at the Board of Elections as recently as the Hubbard’s absentee ballot hustle that once exposed, was swept under the rug while negros cheered the selection of Bruce Franks who ended up resigning after his own side hustle was exposed.
The feds have their work cut out for them, just the level and depth of the corruption, it is infested in every institution…and how far it goes back. And depending on how far they go back we could possibly see former mayors, alders and political appointees indicted as well.. pull the right loose string and all the fuckery could unravel.
Unfortunately and as predicted, black leaders are the face. Do I feel sorry for any of them? No, they weren’t Robinhood’s stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. They were out for self at the expense of the people. Now we know why the actions against a lot these problematic Arab owned stores were unsuccessful, they had
reed, Boyd and even Muhammad out of the movement on the payroll. Who did Ferguson Market have on the payroll? Inquiring minds want to know.
Let’s talk about these prosecutors, Gardner and Bell and the corruption that happened on their watch, corruption they may been involved in, possibly the reason they didn’t call it out and corruption they either participateed in or turned a blind eye to in their previous positions.
Everybody is suspect and as much as St. Louis would live to move on, it can’t. We can’t. And won’t. Special elections that do nothing more than shuffle the same folks around, replacing the indicted with the potentially soon to be indicted or the unindicted because they haven’t been caught is not the answer.
Regional leaders fucked up the response to Ferguson and the city and county are still paying for that. Trust is gone. Leadership has shown itself to be untrustworthy. The indictments last week were indictments of them all.
