The biggest winner of the Ferguson uprising was the Dem Party, black faces in high places, white progressives and the NPIC. The biggest loser is the black community: The city is no longer majority black, black residents forced out by crime and lack of justice for victims disproportionately black. Neither Mike Brown nor any of the other victims of high profile involved shootings got justice, despite Wesley Bell and Kim Gardner running as reformers who once elected showed the same, if not more contempt for black victims as the white predecessors they were voted in to replace. St. Louis is now the child murder capital, the victims primarily black youth. Disastrous reform had adverse affects, not only are black youth being shot and killed by police and criminals, they’re now being shot and killed by residents failed by the mayor, circuit attorney and police. The movement compromised by grifters, opportunists and sellouts. Black lives don’t matter.
The President of the BOA is no longer black. Nor is the police chief. Little if any of the billions raised by BLM or any of the nonprofits that launched in the aftermath was invested in black St. Louis but instead went to fund the radical white progressive movement’s hijacking of Ferguson and installation of controlled opposition, black faces that do their bidding under the guise of black lives mattering.
Black life in the region is worse by every metric. Progressivism exacerbated every issue created by neoliberalism. Neglect/failure by white leaders was replaced by neglect/failure by black girl magic. Grift by white nonprofits replaced by grift by black faced white nonprofits, black orgs, black actorvists and paid protesters.
Not even a decade post Ferguson. Darren Seals said it best, “When white elites own and control your pro-black movement, its not a black movement, its a white movement in black face.”
