☕ Morning fam,
The truth hurts. Inconvenient truths even more so. The problem with Black America is so many of us refuse to swallow hard pills about the left, the Democratic Party, progressives and the black misleadership class. And every other group sees/exploits this weakness, which puts us at a further disadvantage.
This is not chess fam. This is political immaturity. Malcolm X gave us the blueprint how to leverage being the political football that tilts the scale. The older generation did not listen, instead they listened to white liberals and chose integration.
Today we’re living with the ramifications of choosing to eat at a white man’s lunch counter over black empowerment. When we look back and critically analyze the Civil Rights Era, the truth is glaring. White liberals took advantage of our political ignorance to benefit Party, then used fearmongering/exploited race to keep us on the plantation. Republicans made it easy.
Yes, systemic racism exists. But that doesn’t change the fact that today in 2022 our problems stem from a series of self inflicted wounds: blindly following, not questioning or holding our own accountable. And not knowing what to do when we get power or how to build/move independently of the Dem Party.
The reverberations of these self inflicted wounds are being felt in black politics at every level and in black communities from coast to coast.
