☕ Morning fam,
Back to local news… and its bad, but with a silver lining. First, how we got here, a continuation of the petty interparty politics, racism and corruption… the root of the very reasons we took to the streets. The region is stuck in this cycle. Regional leadership either created the problems, benefit from the problems or are in some other way complicit/compromised. There is more than enough blame to go around. There is no accountability. Everybody covers their own fuckery by pointing fingers at others, as if that diminishes or is a pass for their own. The white establishment perfected this… that and breaking off black leaders who turn a blind eye. This is how whiteness (on the left) ran the board for generations.
The black misleadership class learned well emulating the same tactic in the black community. What they are finding out, is this only works when whites retain power. When whites were in control black faces could tell us anything, put the blame/fault/responsibility totally on white folks and we were never the wiser. Now blacks are in power, they no longer get that benefit. They can no longer cloak their failures behind “But, but, but, white folks”. We see them, clearly. The jig is up.
Blacks that were pushing ‘representation’ over qualifications now reject identity politics and black girl magic. Younger black voters are leaving the movement/party in droves. Black families are fleeing the city by the thousands. Racial demographics are changing. The city is no longer majority black. The first casualties? Black leaders, victims of their own demise.
Think the Lakers with Russell Westbrook, time to rebuild.
