We are in trouble fam. Civil war has not been declared, but its playing out in our politics, between the parties, internally within the parties and within black America between those whose allegiance is with the Dem party and those whose allegiance is to black people. We’re getting attacked from all angles but many of us have yet to realize we’re even at war.
We’re back to party & bullshit, Halftime shows and Allstar Games. Black billionaires are providing cover and putting on shows for racist NFL owners, crying on social media over divorcing a woman whose entire family came up off exploiting black men and appropriating black culture or are completely missing in action. White billionaires are investing in tech and big pharma… researching covid/vaccines and building the Metaverse. And coming up with new ways to screw black artists using tech, streaming and nfts.
We scoff at building the basics like our own media or social media and at the idea of controlling lanes/industries/fields where we have a monopoly on the talent/labor or where we are the biggest consumers.
We’re tired from decades of fighting the wrong battle and ending up back at square one or worse, ground zero. We want somebody else to fix things, to fix us. And until then, we’ll settle, be entertained and complain.
