☕ Morning fam,
Picking up where I left off, but first gotta circle back to local news, Kim Gardner had her day in court. She acknowledged wrongdoing and copped a plea, not surprised, her investigator copped a plea too, to a felony. Both sides agreed to a reprimand, doesn’t mean that will happen, suspension of her law license and other options are still on the table. Each side is claiming victory, the reality? St. Louis lost.
The Kim Gardner experiment is a colossal failure, the reverberations being felt across the entire state. It is because Kim Gardner did the bidding of Rep Senator Josh Hawley, that we ended up with Bubba as governor during a global health pandemic.
During her tenure crime and violent homicides are up. St. Louis was named the child murder capital. Her conviction rate is among the worst in the nation. Murder cases have been dropped on the eve of trial. Jail and bail reform have been a bust. Police reform thus far has been writing names on a list and not even making the list public. A quick glace at her social media depicts posts from families of victims begging for justice, some waiting since before she got in office. It took Trump sending prosecutors to solve the murder of Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s Andre Montgomery.
The biggest reverberation? St. Louis is no longer majority black, the result of black families leaving the city in droves. The #1 reason? Crime.
Whatever good Kim Gardner’s supporters thinks she’s doing is not worth the price.
