Nor are they talking Defund despite 2 officer involved killings. No talk about the Civilian Oversight plan the mayor announced just last month. And protester/activist elected leaders and what is left of the movement that was co-opted by progressives and the NPIC continue to run in circles chasing their tails. More reason for constituents to heed the words of Ald Bill Stephens, that the region “needs a whole new legislative body if it is to ever make meaningful progress for its citizens, including a new board of elected officials.”

The irony is that they invited the Feds in winning a bid for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, an arm of the Defense Department, “a secret government agency that played a critical role in the hunt for Osama bin Laden”. Lots of fake indignation, if those crying about state takeover were the answer things wouldn’t have gotten to this point. State intervention means less things they can fuck up locally. These are the people that cosigned Kim Gardner. And still refuse to demand her resignation despite a judge ruling the trial to remove her can proceed and another pondering whether to hold her and subordinates in criminal contempt. Not to mention the media’s slow drip of her incompetence by the hour. Their silence is deafening. Kim Gardner is the thread that threatens to unravel it all.
