Morning fam

☕Morning fam, Within minutes of me finishing my daily diatribes, I got notification of the school shooting and it was deja vu, Hip Hop 911: Stop the Violence was done in response to a mass shooting, 9 young people shot, 1 killed on Christmas Eve 2010. I had to get offline, I couldn’t stomach the fake condolences and concern coming from regional leaders or these grifting assed orgs and black clergy, all more concerned about their agendas and how they came across in the media than tending to traumatized students, teachers and their families. Didn’t get 1 call, despite stlhiphop/Dynasty Hip Hop Program being the only entity in the city or county that has ever successfully rallied the community after a mass shooting. THAT’S A FUCKING FACT. No, the calls went to the same actorvists, preachas and orgs that have been feasting off the deaths and trauma of our young people every since.

☕Morning fam,
Within minutes of me finishing my daily diatribes, I got notification of the school shooting and it was deja vu, Hip Hop 911: Stop the Violence was done in response to a mass shooting, 9 young people shot, 1 killed on Christmas Eve 2010.

Yes, fam, we were there, from Marshata Caradine, Projects 2 Pinnacle (our movement for advocacy for black students, parents, educators and schools),

“Not a single school board or community LEADER have a genuine and heartfelt word of comfort and condolence to the family, the students or the community.

They gave the scripted thoughts and prayers lie but spent more time stroking law enforcement egos and thanking first responders when they were actually the traumatized teachers and students.

They didn’t have it in them to be human and genuine fans truthful for once.”

You may remember Marshata from her appearance on Da Teachas just last month talking to Dr Michael K Blanchard and Dr Rick Wallace about these very issues in St. Louis/East St Louis schools, all of which fell on deaf ears

I don’t know what its gonna take for regional leadership. Programs and schools are great, but that’s putting the cart before the horse. You have to deal with and address the trauma. And that takes a human response and people that actually care and are not exploiting the trauma for a paycheck or grant. They won’t fund that, so we do the best we can on our own dime.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know what to expect next. There will be talk of more ineffective programs and the hiring of people who are as disconnected from young people as regional leaders. And when the media dies down and this is no longer headline news, the talk will dissipate. This mass shooting will be swept under rug, just like the one in 2010.

That’s the cycle. Last week it was the melee at Walmart that went viral. Last month? 2 officer involved shootings and announcement of 6 deaths at the downtown jail since April. All following the same script. Fam, have I not been talking about this since Ferguson?

And I’ve not only been talking, I’ve been mobilizing for the relaunch of stlhiphop/Dynasty Hip Hop Program, you may have seen posts about it or contributed to help make it a reality. If you missed it, check my pinned post. And read the comments. 2 weeks ago I shared a link to the 2010 mass shooting. And like everything else, ignored.

Yesterday was the result.
