Lots of blame going around in St. Louis about the tornado warning system not being deployed when a category 3 tornado touched down in last week with Tishaura apologists blaming current mayor Cara Spenser. Yes ultimately she is responsible and the buck stops with her, but the blame is not hers alone. Sarah Russell was appointed Commissioner of CEMA in 2021 under Mayor Tishaura Jones. Tishaura doesn’t get to walk away from that. The same way Cara Spencer doesn’t get to walk away from being a 10 year alderperson during the peak of the city’s failures & decline.
Tishaura is gone. Moving forward Cara should resign. The Board of Alderman should be dissolved and a city manager installed. It is time to most past failed Dem leadership of the last 75 years in the region. It is time to move beyond the colossal failure of Dem politricks, progressivism and black girl magic post Ferguson. St. Louis needs a purge.
Just last year St. Louis had an opportunity to pass “Fire Them All”, a bill that would have fired the Mayor, Board of Aldermen and Comptroller, banned them from running for office ever again and gave voters the choice of either voting in new leaders or installing a city administrator in the aftermath of widespread corruption and scandals.
The problem was never Trump, MAGA or Republicans… in Jeff City or DC. They’re scapegoats. The problem in St. Louis and other failed blue cities is and has always been the left industrial complex (Dem leaders, progressives, black misleadership class, civil right’s movement/NGOs, BLM/Antifa, professional actorvists/paid protesters, clergy, academia, the education system k-graduate school, the school to prison pipeline) and all the tentacles of the Dem Party propaganda machine (media, social media, influencers & celebrity).
The failure to deploy the tornado warning last week was the latest example of what happens when local leaders focus more on national party issues and DEI than ability to deliver basic services.
We cannot afford another.
