A prosecutor inside NY Attorney General Letitia James’ office reportedly alleged that he was instructed to pursue crimes involving specific Trump allies without what he considered a credible reason for targeting them.
We examine those allegations, James’ previous statements about preparing to “fight back” against the Trump administration, and Alina Habba’s claim that the internal allegations support what she had been warning about.
We also bring the accountability question home to Westchester with the Jarrel Garris case and ask what actually changed after James’ office recommended reforms involving de-escalation, mental-health crises and petty nonviolent offenses.
This isn’t about defending Trump or attacking Tish James. It’s about whether we apply the same standard of accountability to police, prosecutors and politicians.
