ISN’T IT SOMETHING WHEN WE WERE SEGREGATED AND ALL OF OUR EDUCATORS WERE ALL BLACK; WE WERE HIGHLY SCHOLASTIC, WE WERE SCHOLAR ATHLETES, WE WERE INVENTORS, WE WERE CREATIVE, WE WERE ALLOWED TO BE GIFTED, TALENTED, YOUNG AND BLACK ALL IN THE SAME SCHOOL? EVERYON IN THE BUILDING FROM THE JANITOR, TO THE MAINTENANCE CREW, TO THE EDUCATORS TO THE ADMININSTRATORS, ALL OF THEM UNDERSTOOD THAT THEY WERE STAKE HOLDERS AND RESPONSBILE FOR OUR SUCCESS. ALL OF OUR EDUCATORS LIVED AMONGST US. I CHOOSE YOU BECAUSE I LOVED YOUR STRENGTH, CLARITY, GREAT ARTICULATION, TENACITY, DEVOTION, DRIVE AND NO I AM NOT SHOCKED, THIS IS WHO WE ARE AS A PEOPLE.
LET US NOT EVEN ENTERTAIN THE FACT THAT WHEN BLACKS STARTED GOING TO COLLEGE, THAT IS HOW STUDENT LOANS CAME ABOUT BECAUSE COLLEGE USED TO BE FREE FOR WHITES AND WHEN WE WEREN’T ALLOWED TO ATTEND, HBCU’S WERE INVENTED AND WELL YOU KNOW HOW WE GET DOWN?

History of Exploitation
Farming for African-Americans is tainted with a history of racism and discrimination. During the centuries of enslavement, African-Americans harvested cash crops like tobacco, cotton, and sugar. In addition to their labor, the knowledge of enslaved Africans was also exploited. According to Judith Carney, author of Black Rice, the enslaved people who worked on rice plantations in South Carolina helped create one of the most profitable economies of the 18th century. European settlers, who did not know how to grow rice or millet, could not have achieved this on their own; they relied on the skills of enslaved persons, who brought knowledge of these grains from Africa. Other popular crops brought from Africa to the U.S. include coffee, watermelon, black-eyed peas, and okra.

WHITES could grow weed, sell weed and run dispensaries but as usual, African Americans were excluded from making profit in this industry.
African Americans were illegally, unjustly and wrongly arrested, framed, and imprisoned for possessing drugs and/or distributing drugs in the hood that Whites bring into our hoods.
Now we have legalized medical or recreational marijuana but those who were “framed” and lied about gun and drug charges are hit with felonies and therefore they can’t: work at, own, invest in, or sit on the board of a cannabis business and also .
