In San Francisco, the city’s rich liberals and tech bros decided it was a bright idea to punish the poorest folks by tying welfare payments to drug screening and treatment. They wanna make struggling individuals pee in cups just to get by. Mayor London Breed and his wealthy pals backed this nonsense, throwing loads of cash behind it. The opposition tried to fight back, but they were massively outspent. This isn’t about helping people; it’s about scapegoating the less fortunate while lining the pockets of the privileged. San Francisco deserves better than these bogus solutions. We should not stand by and watch as they bulldoze over the most vulnerable among us.
