A group of four Venezuelan migrants were charged for assaulting and robbing a man on a Chicago subway in February 2024. The incident, captured on video, shows the migrants choking the 49-year-old victim until he lost consciousness and stealing $400 and his cell phone. The attack occurred during evening rush hour and left the man unconscious, although he later recovered. Three of the suspects were remanded in custody, while one was released with electronic monitoring. The suspects face charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, and robbery, and could be deported if convicted.
