Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), will appear Monday before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic to discuss his performance during the public health emergency.
As government response to the pandemic became politically contentious, Fauci himself similarly became the focus of those polarized opinions, both among the public and in Congress.
Fauci is expected to face pointed questions about accountability and transparency during the hearing with the GOP-led committee.
The testimony is scheduled for 10 a.m. EDT.
