A woman just pleaded GUILTY in federal court to paying people on LA’s Skid Row to register to vote — $2 and $3 at a time, forged addresses, ballots routed to her own mailbox. That’s not a theory. That’s a signed federal plea. And now there’s video of homeless people in downtown Los Angeles saying they were handed names, told who to sign for, and paid pocket change to do it — with some claiming they were paid to vote for Mayor Karen Bass and Nithya Raman.
In this one I break down all of it: the Brenda Armstrong guilty plea, the 1,160 voters registered at a 120-bed shelter, the clipboards working almost every corner downtown — and why I believe the people in power in LA and California are looking the other way. The most vulnerable people in the city are getting used as bodies for paperwork, and nobody with the power to stop it seems to care.
