**VP JD Vance Confirms Ilhan Omar Committed Immigration Fraud: White House Prepares Legal Remedies**
**By AltBlackNews Staff**
In a bombshell statement that has sent shockwaves through political circles, Vice President JD Vance declared Friday that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) “definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America.”
Speaking on podcaster Benny Johnson’s show, Vance revealed that the Trump administration is actively exploring legal options to investigate and hold the Minnesota congresswoman accountable (denaturalizing/deporting). He confirmed he has consulted directly with White House immigration advisor Stephen Miller on the matter.
“We’re trying to look at what the remedies are,” Vance said. “That’s the thing that we’re trying to figure out is what are the legal remedies now that we know that she’s committed immigration fraud, how do you go after her, how do you investigate her, how do you actually do the thing – how do you build a case necessary to get some justice for the American people?”
Vance went further, linking Omar to broader patterns of fraud within Minnesota’s Somali-American community, which has come under intense scrutiny in recent months for widespread immigration and public benefits schemes allegedly costing taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.
“I’m worried about the immigration,” Vance added. “I’m also worried about: What did Ilhan Omar know about what was happening in the Somali-American community? And why was nobody looking into it until, frankly, Donald Trump came along?”
The allegations against Omar center on her 2009 marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, whom multiple Somali community sources have long claimed is her brother. Critics assert the marriage was a sham designed to secure U.S. immigration benefits for Elmi, a British citizen. Omar has repeatedly denied the claims, describing them as “bigoted lies” and a distraction from real policy issues.
Omar’s chief of staff, Connor McNutt, pushed back sharply against Vance’s remarks, calling them “a ridiculous lie and desperate attempt to distract from the pedophile protection party’s unpopular war of choice, increasing gas prices, and rapidly dropping polling numbers.” He also referenced Vance’s past comments about media strategy as evidence of bad faith.
The long-running controversy dates back more than a decade. Public records show Omar legally married Elmi in February 2009 in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She later divorced him in January 2018, the same month she finalized a legal marriage to her longtime partner Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi (with whom she shares three children). Community leaders, including Somali blogger Abdihakim Osman, have publicly stated that Omar introduced Elmi as her brother in the late 2000s and mentioned he was seeking “papers” — slang for immigration documents.
These claims first surfaced on Somali online forums and gained national attention during Omar’s 2018 congressional campaign. While no criminal charges have ever been filed, the Trump administration has signaled a renewed push for accountability. President Trump himself has repeatedly highlighted the case, calling Omar a “ringleader” in alleged Somali fraud networks and instructing his anti-fraud task force — now led by Vance — to examine it.
The timing of Vance’s comments comes amid aggressive federal and congressional probes into fraud in Minnesota’s Somali community, including sham marriages, fake death certificates, and misuse of social services, child care, and Medicaid programs. Federal officials recently announced that nearly half of certain immigrant groups in the Minneapolis area were involved in some form of immigration fraud.
Marriage fraud is a serious federal crime punishable by up to five years in prison and fines up to $250,000. If proven, it could lead to denaturalization proceedings and deportation for naturalized citizens like Omar, who arrived from Somalia as a teenager and became a U.S. citizen in 2000.
As the White House moves forward, questions remain about whether investigators will uncover sufficient evidence to build a case — or whether this latest chapter is part of a broader political reckoning with high-profile Democrats accused of exploiting immigration laws.
AltBlackNews will continue to monitor developments. The American people deserve transparency and accountability — no matter who is involved.
