No Charges In Nolan Wells’ Death — So Why

Four stories, one question: who gets to stand at the door? The NAACP and eight other groups sued Homeland Security, ICE, the Justice Department and the FBI under Section 11(b) of the Voting Rights Act, alleging threats to put armed federal agents near polling places. A Mississippi grand jury returned no true bill in the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells, while both autopsies list the death as undetermined and his family asks the Justice Department to investigate. A Rasmussen poll has Rick Jackson at 48% and Keisha Lance Bottoms at 45% in Georgia’s governor race, inside the margin of error. And Rep. Joyce Beatty’s lawsuit forced a 30-day notice order before any major change to the Kennedy Center.
