Black voters have supported the Democratic Party for generations, and what do they have to show for it?
Now, a growing movement is delivering an ultimatum: No reparations, no vote.
I do not believe modern Black Americans are owed reparations for slavery—but I wholeheartedly support holding politicians accountable for the promises they made. Democratic leaders and activists have repeatedly told Black voters that reparations are necessary and achievable. Now those voters are demanding that Democrats stop talking and cut the check.
You cannot promise people a bicycle every Christmas and then act shocked when they eventually ask where it is.
In this episode, I explain why the Democratic Party created this political problem, why Al Sharpton and the old civil-rights establishment are losing control of younger Black voters, and how “No Reparations, No Vote” could seriously damage Democrats in the midterms and in 2028.
If reparations must be delivered before these activists vote, there is just one problem: they probably will not be voting for Democrats anytime soon.
