Adding another disturbing layer to the investigation, state records reportedly connect the president of South Chicago Chapel to a Chicago Heights crematory that was **shut down last year after authorities discovered bodies being stored in trailers**.

Meanwhile, another disturbing Chicago case is moving toward trial.
**21-year-old Anthony Nunley is accused of murdering two teenage girls who prosecutors say were his girlfriends at the time of their deaths.** A judge has ordered Nunley held in jail pending trial.
Prosecutors allege 19-year-old **Cierra Evans** was killed in September 2024 following an argument involving Nunley and friends. Her body was discovered the following morning in an alley with apparent gunshot wounds.
Nunley is also charged in the October 2025 killing of **17-year-old Gabriella Arellano**, whose body was discovered in a vacant lot with a gunshot wound to the head. Prosecutors say surveillance footage, witness accounts and other evidence helped build the case. Authorities also allege Nunley was secretly recorded while in custody making incriminating statements about Arellano’s death.
Nunley is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
