A 49-year-old man was violently beaten and robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight Thursday in Chicago’s busy Fulton Market district, police say. The attack occurred around 4:23 p.m. on the 200 block of North Peoria Street, when two male suspects approached the victim, with one brandishing a firearm and demanding his belongings while the other struck him before fleeing in an SUV. Surveillance footage of the brazen armed robbery shows the victim pinned down and assaulted as bystanders were nearby, underscoring concerns about safety in the popular West Loop neighborhood. Chicago police investigators are reviewing video evidence and actively searching for the suspects, who remain at large, and are urging anyone with tips to come forward.
