Spirit Airlines is preparing to shut down after failing to secure a deal with the Trump administration, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The budget carrier has been in Chapter 11 bankruptcy for more than a year and has struggled with rising costs, including surging fuel prices tied to global tensions. Reports suggest the airline may begin liquidating assets, though President Donald Trump says a final proposal could still be under consideration. Spirit also told Scripps News that it is operating normally.
