Ayanna Pressley went to Alabama and said the Trump administration wants Black Americans picking cotton instead of voting. Powerful line. Emotional.
But I had a problem with it — and it’s not the problem you think.
Because when Jasmine Crockett said Blacks are “done picking cotton” and it’s time for “Latino immigrants to do it” — the same Democrats who are cheering Pressley right now were silent.
So which is it? Is the “cotton” line truth-telling? Or is it only powerful when it’s aimed at Republicans?
I break down the hypocrisy, the Supreme Court rulings gutting majority-Black districts, and the real question neither party wants you to ask: What have Democrats actually delivered for working-class Black Americans?
Not speeches. Not performances. Policy.
