Just hours after the Chicago Bears announced plans to move their future stadium development to Hammond, Indiana, former Illinois Comptroller Suzanne Mendoza officially entered the race for Mayor of Chicago. Mendoza has been one of Johnson’s most vocal critics, repeatedly attacking his administration over rising taxes, public safety concerns, business attrition, and what she describes as a failure of leadership at City Hall.
The timing could not be worse for the mayor.
