Josh Hawley questioned witnesses about Minnesota fraud after an independent journalist exposed what state officials claimed they could not find.
Hawley pointed out that the journalist was only 24 years old, had a camera, used public spending records, and found fraud by visiting locations and asking basic questions. The witness said there were no services happening at some of the locations and that the fraud was visible once someone actually looked.
Then Hawley brought up Keith Ellison, saying Ellison received $10,000 in campaign contributions from people connected to the fraud while later claiming he did not take a dime. Hawley argued that officials missed the fraud because fraudsters were paying the people who were supposed to stop it.
This reaction breaks down Josh Hawley, Minnesota fraud, Keith Ellison, Nick Shirley, taxpayer money, public records, campaign contributions, government corruption, fraud investigations, and whether officials looked away while fraudsters drained public programs.
