Karmelo Anthony is cooked. His family squandered hundreds of thousands of dollars donated for legal fees, leaving his defense to be advocated by an overworked public defender. Hundreds of thousands of dollars donated by supporters did not go towards his defense. Let that sink in whether you think he acted in self defense or is guilty.
My initial opinion days after the stabbing that Karmelo was not acting in self defense and would be convicted has not changed. The defense put on by his public defender was a complete disaster, crumbling after calling a witness whose testimony contradicted Karmelo’s.
He should have taken a plea.
