One progressive influencer reportedly received money from at least SEVEN politicians or outside groups this election cycle—including groups supporting Democratic candidates.
Former California gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer’s campaign paid 17 influencers at least $5,000 each, with one major TikTok creator receiving a reported $400,000.
Katie Porter’s campaign reportedly paid 12 influencers a combined $139,500.
And a super PAC supporting socialist Pennsylvania candidate Chris Rabb disclosed payments to nearly 50 influencers for “social media consulting.”
But the DARK MONEY angle goes even deeper.
Previous reporting revealed a liberal influencer program financed by the Sixteen Thirty Fund that offered creators as much as $8,000 PER MONTH, with contracts restricting disclosure of their relationship with the program and its funder.
