🔍 VIDEO SUMMARY:
Seattle is facing a growing showdown over homelessness, public safety, and the future of its business community. Mayor Katie Wilson has VETOED a controversial RV parking ordinance passed by the Seattle City Council, just as a troubling new survey reveals that nearly HALF of responding Seattle businesses have seriously considered moving operations, jobs, or investment out of the city.

The Seattle City Council approved sweeping new restrictions aimed at regulating recreational vehicles parked on public streets, including a permit system and limits on overnight parking. But Mayor Wilson rejected the permit proposal, arguing that it could increase homelessness and create costly enforcement challenges.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Metro Chamber’s 2026 Business Climate Survey paints a troubling picture of business confidence in the Emerald City.

A staggering 47% of responding businesses have seriously considered moving operations, jobs, or investment out of Seattle. Public safety concerns and taxes or fees tied as the leading reasons businesses considered leaving, while 61% expressed pessimism about the city’s economic future.

Even more concerning, 56% say Seattle’s business climate has deteriorated over the past year, and 70% say improved public safety would make them more likely to stay, expand, or invest.

As Seattle struggles with RV encampments, homelessness, crime concerns, and rising business costs, the political battle raises a critical question: Is City Hall listening to the businesses and residents demanding change?

In this video, we examine Mayor Katie Wilson’s clash with the Seattle City Council, the controversial RV parking veto, the alarming business survey results, and what these developments could mean for Seattle’s economy.
