The DNC is not simply short on cash—it is reportedly in the red. Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee is sitting on a substantial financial advantage. But this is about much more than money.
In this episode, I explain why the Democratic Party’s financial crisis is also an enthusiasm crisis, an identity crisis and a credibility crisis. Even Democratic voters are losing confidence in their own congressional leadership—and the party’s growing socialist wing is making matters worse.
For years, establishment Democrats tried to present themselves as reasonable moderates. Now democratic socialists are openly advocating abolishing the Senate, dismantling ICE, eliminating borders, defunding the Pentagon, radically restructuring the presidency and Supreme Court, and placing major corporations under public ownership.
The mask is off.
Independent voters are seeing what this movement represents, and the Democratic establishment can no longer pretend that its radical wing is merely a political sideshow.
I also have a direct message for young Black men: examine what these policies have done to the family, masculinity, economic opportunity, education and personal freedom. Political loyalty should never require you to support a party that works against your interests and your values.
The DNC may be broke, but its real problem is that Americans are waking up.
