It’s wild watching people overthink and perform mental gymnastics trying to explain Tuesday’s election results while being completely oblivious to what’s staring them in the face. This isn’t rocket science. Congress did not pass the SAVE Act and Illegals voted. Notice after the election results Dems completely stopped talking about illegals being allowed to vote? And notice, they’re not saying we’ll have a bigger coalition when illegals are allowed to vote? That’s because they’re already voting.
The party in power always loses the midterms. No surprise that Republicans lost. But notice nobody’s talking about the impact of the DSA even though DSA members like Abdul El-Sayed won. Illegals and young politically/economically naive voters were behind the push. The fact that so many young people in America are uneducated about socialism and communism and view both failed systems more favorably than capitalism, the system that has lifted more people out of poverty in the world. And being utterly clueless about the threat of radical Islam.
Love or hate capitalism, it is the system that made America wealthy enough to spread wealth around the world via foreign aid and nonprofits. It made America wealthy enough so that even poor people here live exponentially better than poor people anywhere else on the planet. Capitalism made America wealthy enough to provide a safety net: food stamps, Section 8/low income housing and medicaid.
Is capitalism perfect? No… and this is coming from a descendant of Black American slaves, people that were once a commodity. But in the years post slavery up until today, capitalism has lifted millions of black people have been lifted out of poverty. There are thousands of Black millionaires and dozens of black Billionaires. Lebron, an athlete is a billionaire. Jay Z, a rapper is a billionaire. Black sports & entertainment is filled with rags to riches stories: Floyd Mayweather, Master P, BG, the list goes on.
Name another economic system in which any of this would be possible?
