"YOU PEOPLE" Search: Got my OWN mic, stage, key, seat & door! by Marshata Caradine

Closeted Parker

I thought about you during this season and in reflecting on our conversations of many, I recall you saying that you didn’t know too much about History because it is Jesus and Jesus only with you and I respect that but you are a closeted Black woman without knowing it or understanding it.

You see, during times of slavery, playing the drums and dancing were forbidden.

Why?

It was liberation, joy and communication and our captives, slave owners, or masters didn’t know it or couldn’t interpret it so they banned it for fear of rebellion or an uprising.

So without wearing a Black beret

Without wearing Black boots

Without wearing Black shades

Without wearing all Black everything

Without wearing Black jump suits

Without carrying a mega phone

You are STILL rebellious, defiant and noncompliant because you dance like David dance and you invite our future to dance with you.

When I see you dance; I see your strength.

When I see you dance, I see your tenacity.

When I see you dance, I see your defiance

When I see you dance, and see your confidence.

When I see you dance, I see your boldness.

When I see dance, I see your love language through your motion and feet.

There is a scripture where r it talks about BEAUTIFUL FEET, yep your rhythmically trained manicures feet are beautiful and I just wanted to thank you for being available to listen, to care, to mend and to bring out the goodness and greatness with your strong love language.
