Angry TPS Haitans Lashing Out At Foundational Black Americans

In this episode, Uncle D (Dennis Spurling) breaks down why some Haitian TPS holders are lashing out at Foundational Black Americans after the end of Temporary Protected Status. The point is simple: Foundational Black Americans didn’t create TPS, didn’t grant TPS, didn’t terminate TPS, and didn’t issue the Supreme Court decision. So why is the anger being aimed at us?

This conversation goes deeper than immigration. Uncle D explains how some Black immigrants come to America, benefit from Black American civil-rights protections, use Black American institutions, and then turn around and disrespect the very people whose ancestors built the legal, political, and cultural framework they now rely on.

This episode also challenges the myth that “immigrants built America.” America was already built by settlers, enslaved people, free Black people, soldiers, farmers, lawyers, inventors, churches, HBCUs, and communities long before the modern post-1965 immigration wave arrived. Uncle D also ties this history directly to his own family line through Attorney George Washington Jones, Rust College, Kansas Black politics, and the legacy of Black landownership and wealth.

The message is direct: TPS is temporary. Citizenship is different. Foundational Black Americans are not responsible for adult decisions made under a temporary immigration status. And nobody gets to disrespect Black Americans while hiding under the protections Black Americans fought, bled, and died to create.
