You don’t get to wrap radical deviant prison-abolition ideology, Marxist theory, and anti-family activism in the language of “justice” and pretend it built the Black community.
It didn’t. That’s a lie. I’m old enough to have lived through this.
Angela Davis built movements around dismantling systems. Especially the black nuclear family.
Understand, the Black community wasn’t built by dismantling anything.
It was built by married mothers and fathers.
It was built by discipline.
It was built by church on Sunday and work on Monday.
It was built by men who stayed.
It was built by women who guarded the home.
In 1960, nearly 70–80 percent of Black children were raised in two-parent households. Today that number has collapsed to roughly 22 percent.
That collapse did not happen because we lacked “liberation theory.”
It happened because the nuclear family was undermined… culturally and politically.
You cannot celebrate “freedom and justice” while ignoring that fatherlessness is the single greatest predictor of poverty, incarceration, school failure, and violent crime.
That’s not opinion. That’s Department of Justice and Census data.
The civil rights generation fought for access to opportunity within a framework of family stability.
What followed was an ideological shift that treated the family as optional… even oppressive.
And the results are measurable.
If we are going to honor Black history, then let’s honor the structure that actually sustained Black excellence:
Married households.
Present fathers.
Mothers and fathers aligned.
Faith communities reinforcing moral order.
Without that structure, slogans mean nothing.
The Black nuclear family is not a side issue.
It is the infrastructure.
Everything else is commentary.
