GAVIN NEWSOM just dropped a MAJOR 2028 presidential bombshell involving Kamala Harris—and even CNN’s Jake Tapper appeared surprised by his answer!
California Gov. Gavin Newsom says he will NOT run for president in 2028 if former Vice President Kamala Harris enters the Democratic primary.
Newsom’s words were unmistakable:
🔥 “I WOULDN’T RUN IF SHE RAN.”
🔥 NEWSOM SAYS HE WOULD STEP ASIDE
🔥 HARRIS IS STILL CONSIDERING 2028
🔥 NEWSOM WARNS OF “MUTUAL ASSURED DESTRUCTION”
🔥 TWO MAJOR CALIFORNIA DEMOCRATS COULD COMPETE FOR THE SAME SUPPORTERS
During his interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Newsom explained that he believes running against Harris would force many of the same Democratic voters, donors and political allies to choose between them.
Newsom argued that putting both California Democrats into the same presidential primary would be a political “gift” to their opponents and described the potential showdown as “mutual assured destruction.”
Newsom also said he wouldn’t “waste everyone’s time” by entering the race against Harris.
That’s significant because BOTH Newsom and Harris have been widely discussed as possible contenders for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination.
