We’re having the WRONG conversations about Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Superbowl and most of y’all are overthinking it, talking about Samuel Jackson being Uncle Sam, Serena being used, the choreography, inmates dancing and so on. It’s not that deep.
1. We don’t CONTROL hip hop, so when the hip hop massas say jump, mofos jump. They told Kendrick to jump and he said ‘how high’… and he’s not the first.
They used Jay to end the boycott. Surely you don’t think they didn’t tell Jay who to pick or didn’t influence Kendricks performance on THEIR stage.
And nothing will change until we build OUR OWN STAGE, but mofos don’t want that because that takes work and sacrifice. Easier to pontificate online.
