I’m feeling eerie sense of deja vu watching a lot of our people walk away with wrong takeaway about the unprecedented/historical times we’re living in… the same dread I felt watching people embrace Black Lives Matter over Ferguson instead of nipping that shit in the bud. And look where that got us.
Getting the takeaway wrong this time will come with unimaginable consequence. Revolution is here and it doesn’t look the way any of us imagined. This is a 1776 moment. A new America is being formed. New rules. A new playing field and instead of watching game and learning how to tighten up our game from a movement that’s gotten farther than any other that ever banged on the beast, most are in their feelings and can’t shake their feelings about how they feel about Trump.
Trump is not the greater threat. It’s wild watching people get so emotional about Trump while giving the Dem Party a pass… a party that destroyed black families, mass incarcerated black people, limited black children to failing schools, confined black people to segregated ghettos and exploited black people in every way imaginable…
Oh and imported millions to replace them.
No smoke for any of it.
The smoke is reserved for those of us taking notes. Those of us heeding the words of Malcolm and those that came before us in this fight.
It’s wild watching cats be dismissive of those lessons and instead embrace the words of social media influencers, grifters and poverty pimps.
And people that never fought on the front lines. Never sacrificed. Never put their theories to the test.
And see government as the solution and not the problem.
