Equitable Grading

“We must establish all over the country schools of our own to train our own children to become scientists, to become mathematicians. We must realize the need for adult education and for job retraining programs that will emphasize a changing society in which automation plays the key role. We intend to use the tools of education to help raise our people to an unprecedented level of excellence and self respect through their own efforts.”  Malcolm X

I an so sick of these KNOW IT ALL WHITE folks, this is why we are where we are. The college admission scandal are filled with these kinds of teachers.

“The schools we go to are reflections of the society that created them. Nobody is going to give you the education you need to overthrow them. Nobody is going to teach you your true history, teach you your true heroes, if they know that that knowledge will help set you free.” Assata Shakur

Our inner city BLACK babies need BLACK educators and not BLACK teachers (No, they are not the same).

We shifted during the 2000’s. That’s when Teach for America began to invade and infiltrate our BLACK space, places and schools.

Rewarding medicicrity and punish excellence.

Undermines responsibility, conditions them for failure.
Rewards without Work

I have students to say that we Are not in the slavery day and our BEING GRADE A is no longer necessary. In my class being GRDE A is:

What is the root? IT IS IN EDUCATION. Black teachers understand that we not only teach academics but civil, hygiene, manners and we pick up where home should have. We equip our future to be civil, lawful and assets and it appears this is NOT what education is about today.

EQUITABLE

This is that SYMBOLIC forms of progress Malcolm X spoke about.

“There is a lot of money to be made from miseducation, from the easy to read easy to learn textbooks, workbooks, teacher manuals, educational games and visual aids. The textbook business is more than a billion-dollar-a-year industry and some of its biggest profits come from ‘audio-visual aids’ – flash cards, tape cassettes, and filmstrips. No wonder the education industry encourages schools to focus on surface education.” Marva Collins

If we want equity, equality DEAL with policy and not this failing unrealistic “bright idea” for our brilliant , highly gifted and talented inner city children.

This is EXACTLY why we have who we have in the white house and America is crumbling.
