I have questions.
Where were Democrats when they had the House, the Senate, and the White House
and didn’t pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act? Where was the pressure on
Manchin and Sinema? Where’s the call for the NFL, the WNBA, or sitting
members of Congress to put their own paychecks on the line?
Instead, the ask is being placed on 17 and 18-year-old kids — kids who
didn’t create this problem and haven’t even voted yet — to sacrifice their
scholarships, their NIL money, and their futures to clean up a mess the
Democratic Party had every opportunity to prevent.
This isn’t a sacred cause. This is grown people hiding behind teenagers.
