#TRIGGER Black America failed Cyrus and Karmelo. As did their parents. In the case of Cyrus, how many times have we complained about how we get treated in these Asian stores? And for how long? Years. Decades. Yet we still won’t build/$upport our own.
Chow should have been convicted. Boycotting Asians is a reactionary response. Yeah it might feel good to do so and to troll Asians online, but what is the plan when/if they leave? Who fills the void? Arabs or some other group because negros refuse to build. So anotha group, then what? Wait til another Cyrus gets shot in the back and rinse, repeat? The best boycott is building your own, yet nobody is advocating that ensuring this can/will happen again.
Cyrus wasn’t the first person shot by Chow. He had at least 3-4 encounters yet somehow was allowed to remain in the community. And because he was allowed, he felt emboldened.
In Karmelo’s case, he would not be getting ready to serve a 35 year sentence for murder had he simply left when asked. The community tells us different. The culture says impose your will. The culture says provoke. The culture says don’t let some whiteboy punk you. The culture says “man up”.
Both Cyrus and Karmelo’s parents failed them. Neither taught their sons to get up from the table when love is no longer being served. Cyrus’ parents did not teach him to steer clear of Asian stores. Karmelo’s parents did not teach him how to walk away.
I can already hear the Cyrus and Karmelo shouldn’t have to… Shouldn’t have to is why one is dead and the other is on his way to prison.
